Land Mark Projects

  • Joint Activities with the swastik League
    Our club has been closely associated with various activities of The Swastik League, another voluntary organisation working for needy people in our community.

    A Physiotherapy centre was started in 1979 in the league premises, through an initial donation of Rs.20,000/- by our club for purchase of equipments. This centre is open to public from Monday to Friday between 6 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. The treatment is provided at a concessional rate.

    A day care centre for Senior Citizens was started in 1987 in the league premises through an initial donation of Rs.25,000/- by our club. This provides an opportunity for Senior Citizens to meet regularly. This creates a sense of belonging which they need for their physical and mental health. Recreation facilities and the services of a qualified social worker are made available at this centre.

    We have also donated Rs.1,00,000/- to the league for the renovation of the gymnasium and the general upgradation of the league.

  • Upgradation of the Swastik League
    During ionistic Year 95-96 an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- has been donated to the League for enhancing & strengthening the facilities in theGymnasium, Physiotherapy Centre and The League’s Hall etc. During Lionistic Year 97-98 Rs.25,000/- donated for purchasing Chairs.
  • Telephone booth
    Our club has donated Rs.12,000/- for a telephone booth to physical handicapped person during “October Service Week” in Lionistic Year 1996-97.
  • Water cooler
    The club has constructed a Water Cooler at Prarthana Samaj at a cost of Rs.80,000/-. It is fitted with electrical water cooling equipment and provides cold water to more than 5,000 persons per day.
  • dental opd
    The club has sponsored the Dental OPD at Smt. Motiben B. Dalvi Hospital close to Gamdevi, Mumbai and has donated Rs.55,000/- for buying the equipments.
  • Concrete cricket pitch
    The Club has built and maintained a concrete cricket pitch on the groun dof Wilson High School. In addition, Scientific training is imparted to school boys by our experienced and renowned coach and Past President Lion Madhav Paralkar.
  • Craft centre for paraplegics
    The Club has donated Rs. 1.25 lakhs for the construction of Craft Centre for Paraplegics. The Centre for Rehabilitation of Paraplegics, built in collaboration with the Society for the Rehabilitation of Paraplegics at “Sharan” in sector 9, at Vashi has been doing commendable work in making Paraplegics self employed.
  • Traffic Police booth
    The Club has constructed a Traffic Police Booth at Opera House Junction, one of the busiest traffic intersections in the city, at a cost of Rs.33,000/-. This Booth was upgraded during Lionistic Year 93-94 at the cost of Rs.20,000/-.
  • Biochemistry division at motiben dalvi hospital
    The Club donated Rs.50,000/- in June 1988 for upgradation of Pathology Department of Smt. Motiben B. Dalvi Hospital. The division is fully operative and benefits several needy citizens in the area.
  • school for dumb & deaf
    Our Club donated Rs.25,000/- in June 1990 to the Mumbai Dumb & Deaf Institution for repairing their classroom located at Kakad Wadi which, being in a dilapidated condition was out of use. This donation has enabled the School to recommission the classroom and educate additional fifteen to twenty Dumb & Deaf Children in our area.
  • aid to dumb & deaf
    Our Club donated Rs.25,000/- to Bharatiya Street Jivan Vikas parishad, Tilaknagar, Thane for acquiring Hearing Aid and Speech Trainer. This has helped the dumb and deaf students in improving their hearing and speech.
  • Donation to brahman sabha hospital
    Our Club has donated Rs.50,000/- to Brahman Sabha, Mumbai for upgradation of their ‘Operation Theatre’ with modern equipments for benefit of society at large.

    Continuous Service Activities

  • Eye Camps

    The club has conducted several Eye Camps. 1607 operations have been performed so far at these camps free of Cost.

  • Medical Camps
    Every year the Club conducts Medical Camps where a number of needy and poor people from the community are given Free Medical Service under the expert advice of well known Medical Practitioners. In collaboration with Y.G.G. Phadke Charitable Trust.
  • Blood Collection Drive
    Year after year the Club organises a Blood Collection Drive in our locality. So far we have collected over 5360 bottles of blood from healthy donors which has saved many precious lives.
  • aid for school children
    The Club regularly distributes school uniforms to needy children and sponsors deserving school-children by incurring their educational expenses. It also conducts Medical and Dental check-ups for school children and distributes utility articles free of cost.

    Special projects

  • Donation to Jambhulpada village
    We, undertake special need based projects for the community at large. In 1989-90 we had undertaken a special Fund Raising Drive and raised Rs.23,000/- in a very short time. It enabled us to provide timely aid to the residents of Jambhulpada, a village near Khopoli, which was ravaged by the Amba River during the deluge in 1989-90.
  • Donation to savarkar pratishthan
    We had also undertaken a special Fund Raising Drive for the Savarkar Darshan Pratishthan and raised a large amount of Rs.2,50,000/- in a short time of less than a month. The amount has already been handed over to the Pratishthan. It will be used for producing a film on the life of late Veer Savarkar.
  • relief/rehabilitation of the
    earthquake-striken people in maharashtra Our club collected Rs.5.30 lakhs for relief/rehabilitation of earthquake striken people in Latur, Osmanabad District. We had undertaken to contribute this amount for construction of twelve-bed hospital in Rebe-Chincholi village. The inauguration of the hospital took place on 30th June, 1996.
  • Donation to swarkamal
    A sum of Rs.50,000/- was donated for purchasing electronic voice and video equipments for development of voice culture activities.
  • Donation to dalvi hospital
    A sum of Rs.2.01 was donated for purchasing equipment for Accident Trauma Unit and Rs.50,000/- for upgrading computer Department.
  • cancer detection
    At Suryavanshi Hall for the 1st time our club carried out cancer detection about 110 patients were checked and about 10 were affected by cancer.
